So today was Farm Field Day. This time of year the local farm & the FFA kids invite all the county 4th graders to the farm. Where they learn about the many things that come from a farm. Like; did you know it takes 2-5 yrs to make a pizza? That bees only live for 6 weeks? That dirt is a word your Mom made up? Well now ya do and so do hundreds of 4th graders. They really have a great program out there. They have involved many different people to pull it off and it's gotten bigger each year. I believe the kids had a great time. You decide.
It Works when ya break it down into all the diff. ingredients.
It's not dirt! Call it silt or soil not dirt (remember we Mom's made that one up).
A sheep. Do y'all know what comes from a sheep? (Think about it)
These two miniature horses belonged to Youngests best friends Grandparents. One was sold to this farm. Her BF helped raise them & The Youngest spent some time with them also.
What a great day at the farm. Even Mom learned some things. One of the best things I saw was a sign hanging in one of the barns. I wish I had gotten a picture, but this is what it said:
"Our Family Works Like Helen B. Happy"
Let me know if you get it. The other Mom's with me didn't. I think we all can agree with this sign. :-)!

What a great idea! My kids love seeing a farm. It is somewhat sad that they have to visit for a field trip, and our parents lived on one. Man do times change.
Erin,
This doesn't have anything to do with the farm pictures, although they are very fun. I also read the "Last Lecture". I really enjoyed it. I was somewhat relieved to find that I was already doing many of the things that he suggested. In this case, it did take a rocket scientist to figure out that family is important-more important than anything else. I'm glad that our family learned that lesson before it was too late. I liked his saying that if you are living the way you should-your dreams will come to you. Let me know what you are reading next.
Love,
Pam
Thank you for filling me in on what the sign said! It was a fun field trip. Very well done.
