I know Thanksgiving was a week ago but here are some fun pics. of our weekend with my big brother's family. Jim & Christi's family joined us on Thanksgiving when we enjoyed great food, fun, games, football, Rock Band and a movie. Yes, we piled a lot in. We have many things to be grateful for and family and friends are a big part of that, because we have been blessed with a lot of both.
Mike's family have been coming down for the last 3 yrs. in a way of us trying to kind of re-in -act our childhood Thanksgivings. When we were growing up we used to all pile into our station wagon or van (whatever we happen to own at the time. One of those vans was a 15 passenger...yeah you know what I am talking about. Some of you even had one yourselves. Or how about a big ol' station wagon with wood paneling and a set in the back facing the cars behind you? ...Now that was safe.) Anyway all six of us kids piled in with luggage for 8 and our parents and off we went to Gma & G'pa's house. What fun times we would have. All our cousins, Aunts, Uncles, great Aunts, Uncles and cousins. We would rent different buildings to house us all. Eventually it was a school. The food was always good and the company even better. I guess the one thing most remember is the no-rules basketball games that were played each year. Now I never played, but the cries, screams, groans and many other unnamed noises could be heard for miles. I guess laughter was also a noise heard while this game was going on, because they all had a great time. No major visits to the hospital that I can think of. I believe Van joined one year, but enjoyed the noises with the rest of us on future visits. These are very fond memories of mine. We had a great weekend every year and it became known as our reunion of sorts. I hope and I believe that Mike hopes we are making memories for our kids. This Thanksgiving was definitely a great memory to keep.
4-Wheeling................(Our version of "No-rules" Basketball...you'll notice they aren't wearing helments.)
Mike and his family love to go 4-wheeling and just be outside. So he brought down a couple 4-wheelers and borrowed a motorcycle and off they went. It wasn't to bad a weekend. It rained Wed & Thurs but not til they got done. My kids had a blast! So THANKS Uncle Mike for the great injury free memories!
What a fun weekend and a great trip down memory lane.
Until next year.........
