Christmas

We had an AWESOME Christmas! The kids and I got done with school on Dec. 19th (a GREAT B-Day present) and Van took off work on Christmas Eve until the Monday after Christmas (Dec. 29). It was a nice long relaxing weekend. On Christmas Eve we continued Van's Family tradition of spending the evening with family. So we spent it with our family away from family. We have some great friends here and it was a special night to spend with them. The kids also open their Christmas P.J.'s so they did in front of all our guests. The girls were brave enough to model them in front of them also. We talked and ate and enjoyed some great company. After they left we all put on our P.J.'s and watched our Christmas Eve tradition movie "A Muppet Christmas Carol". Christmas morning started about 7:30 (as the kids get older it gets a little later YAY!). After the dog had his gift from Santa we let the kids out of the hall. Santa brought everything in nice sacks this year. Mrs. Clause out did herself this year. I am reccommending she do it ever year (they were definitely homemade). They each took turns pulling something out of the sack. I think all were happy. Van made Cream of Wheat with whipped cream for breakfast and some hung around in P.J.'s all morning. We played the new video games. napped, read, remote controlled a car, played Polly Pockets and just spent time together. Our "Samoan Boys" came over to open presents and play games. They brought us some wonderful Samoan BBQ! We ate good all weekend!
On Friday the 26 we took the kids to a new Pizza Restaurant in town called "Pirate Island". We keep a jar of change and decided to cash it in and take the kids out to eat and play. This restaurant has a pirate theme (obviously) and also has many arcade games that you play for tickets. We have a tradition of going to see a new released movie over Christmas break so on Saturday we braved the crowds and took the kids to see "Bedtime Stories". It was pretty cute. All in all it was a fun weekend of being together. We did it again the next weekend when Van took another 3 days off.
We love the Holidays. It really gave us a chance to spend time together and remember why we are here and who sacrificed for us so that we can be here with the opportunity to be Together Forever . We have had some great memoris together and hope to be able to continue making them.
