UNTHINK KFC

O.K. so many of you probably received a coupon for a free KFC grilled chicken meal last week. I received the e-mail a couple of times and printed my limit of four. With the overwhelming response to this offer (hard to believe they weren't prepared, it was free and we are in America) we decided to wait a few days to redeem ours. So we ventured over there on Saturday evening after a nice swim with the kids. We walked in the door and one of us (Middle's ability to notice EVERYTHING came in handy), noticed the sign posted on the door informing us that "Due to the overwhelming response (again can't believe they were overwhelmed) of the free meal offer, you will have to turn your coupons in for a rain check." O.K. well we could have got upset/frustrated we were hungry and they did send out the coupons, but they might have advertised and we may not have seen it. Anyway we were there and like I said we were hungry.

So we waited in line for less then 5 mins. and decided to order anyway. While we were waiting I filled out the rain check and left it with them (I will receive new coupons in the mail with new dates on them). No biggie got through that and didn't get mad. We waited 10-15 mins for our order and left the restaurant. While walking to the car Van suggested we check it real quick just to be sure it's correct (if any of you have ever ordered from a fast food place before you know from personal experience like us that mistakes can be made). So by glancing in each box I checked it and it was all there (I can still smell it Yummmm).

Well my story isn't over yet.........When we got home we pretty much dug right in after a blessing of course. As we opened the boxes all our faces feel with disappointment. There was one big breast piece and the rest were small wings, legs or thigh pieces. Growing up and even in recent years I remember having a pretty equal amount of chicken. Some BIG, some smaller. Well these were all, but one, on the small side. Five hungry people, two adults, two teenagers and a ten yr. old , all staring at these almost pathetic pieces of chicken that were to be our meal after a long day of chores and swimming. The sides were typical KFC size and the biscuits were the same so needless to say we didn't go hungry, but there were no leftovers as has happened on ever other occasion after eating KFC in the past.

The chicken was good (we did try the grilled chicken and decided it wasn't bad, but preferred the original) and we will probably go back, it is a great way to feed alot of people, but we have been disappointed and we will be paying closer attention and probably complain if need be. If you haven't used your coupons or turned them in for rain checks you need to do so by May 19th. Give it a shot and I hope you are happy with your experience as I hope our next visit will be. 8-)
