An AWESOME Birthday Present

Youngest's birthday was on Monday. Our wonderful neighbor, Christine, wanted to give her a great AWESOME present: A tour of some of thier vacation homes! Now you may be thinking "What kind of present is that for a 12 year old?" Well for this 12 year old it was the BEST gift in the world! Youngest loves to look at homes, draw homes and of course go see them! So on Saturday we grabbed her BFF J & her sister and we drove around and took the grand tour (well of some of them.)
And of course they had to pose ...........and of course I was ready with my camera..............

THANK YOU Christine (& Kendall)!
She will never forget this one (believe me when I say she'll want to go again).
It was THIS 12 years old's dream come true!

Halloween Weekend 2010

Our weekend started with our ward Halloween Block Party & Chili cookoff on Friday.......

They used the neighbor's house to get ready and help her get ready

Then on Halloween night Youngest went trick or treating for the last year without parent supervision with her friends. While Middle hung out with J her BFF. We hung out with our friends and handed out goodies to the little teroors (well there was mostly spider man).

Kinda pathetic I know, but he is patient with me......
 She got some great loot!

Oldest spent the evening at Sadies.........more to come on that.

All in all it was another reminder of how old my kids are getting.

A BIG Welcome Home!

On Monday January 19 a member of our ward, Elder Menlove, came home from his mission to San Francisco, CA.. The neighborhood girls (ages 8-12; unfortunately for him all to young) decided to decorate his house while his parents had gone to the airport to pick him up. They had so much fun decorating and hanging out waiting for them to come home. Unfortunately his flight was cancelled and he ended up being a few hours later then planned. So the girls didn't get to see him that night. They had fun anyway and Elder Menlove really appreciated all the girls did (you can't see it in the picts., but they had used sidewalk chalk to write fun messages all over the driveway). We got to see and hear from him at church today. We are glad he is home safe and love the example he has set for our children and all others in our ward. WELCOME HOME Josh; Job Well Done!

We live in an AWESOME neighborhood!

Annual Turkey Trot

.....WELL WE AREN'T TURKEYS AND WE DIDN'T DO MUCH TROTTING, BUT WE DID HAVE FUN!

We have enjoyed our Community's Turkey Trot for the last 3-4 years. This year our neighborhood was well represented. Van was sick and on-call and the Oldest was at an out of town swim meet (we missed him, b'cuz we never win if he's not there). So the girls and I went on our own and very much enjoyed being with our great neighbors. The registration fee is 3 cans of food per person which is then donated to the local food bank. Then everyone walks/runs a mile. This year they added a 5K for those more ambitious people (we were represented there also). It was a little more drawn out this year and we didn't win anything, but we had fun just the same. I'll say it again as I have said before....."We live in a great neighborhood (and community.").
