It's Here Wheather We Like it or Not........

(So I know I am behind, but I wanted to get these posted)

What's back?
Well for one......School is back in session!
(Wheather we like it or not)

Not usually a happy day around here, but the favorite part is NEW CLOTHES of course!
Middle and Youngest did a bit of babysitting and other jobs this summer so they could do some shopping for the new year.

Youngest is starting her second and last year at the Intermediate School (7th grade).
She bought this whole outfit............
(I should have taken picts all week so you could see all her new outfits)
Middle is "offficially" at the high school as a sophmore........
(also starting the year on the Varsity & JV volleyball team)

And we can't have a first day of school without her BF J.......
(Aren't they gorgeous?!)

So there's a good story that goes with this next pict.......
Only sophmores have to start school @ 8am on the first day. Upper classman don't have to go til noon. So Oldest sat around and watched movies. I was going to snap a pict of him in his pj's in the bean bag, but had to get myself ready for work :) Anyway he was still in his pj's when I left so I didn't get a pict of him in his first day outfit.
Luckily someone else did......

Lucky for me the local newspaper was there and even got him with his BF J (Indy) (on the front page). Being a senior this year I need to catch every moment I can wheather I do it or the paper as long as it gets done!
Our neighbor and friend J is with them and if you look close you can see part of Middle and her BF J in the background.

All went well with the first day we all survived and should make it through another year.

(P.S. I am under protest. Each first day of school brings a last and another year gone.......so I protest!)

By the way did you read the part about him being a senior? Just wanted to make sure you got that part. It's a big part of the reason I protest.

Best wishes to you & your kids for a great school year!
(If you have a senior also my thoughts are with you.)

Another First Day of School

Well here we go again.............. another year of school off to a good start.
Actually I see it differently....... one more year closer to an empty house.
So NOT ready for that.
****************************
Youngest (the Baby) off to a new school, by herself for the first time. She handled it SOOO much better then her mother!
 (Another year of carpool....UGH!)
Middle......... a  5'9" Freshman. Officially in HS (but attending the middle school, which is JUST fine with her mother).

 New friends to walk with.......
Oldest..........it blows my mind but he is a Junior this year and I am still trying to figure where my chubby little baby went. He was a baby (and little) once I have pictures to prove it. He was excited to find out he grew a 1/2". Not 2' like his Col. was predicting, but a 1/2" more then he thought he would. And it makes him 6'5.5".
Carpooling buddies, neighbors and best of all......FRIENDS!

So like it or not, I have to deal with it and I have decided I am going to enjoy the time I have left and make LOTS of memories!

The End..........(of another School year)

Well the school year ended a month ago and there were lots of activities. Our computer has been on the fritz and so it has hendered my blogging and I apologize to all who are actually following our lives. So here is our update:

Club Volleyball....Middle played in Cedar, Vegas and St George.

Oldest went to Senior Ball.......
JROTC Spring Premotions..........
Even a special visitor.....G'ma Pat
Spring Band Concert...........

JROTC Awards Ceremony.........Not a good picture, but can you find Oldest?
Middle's last Volleyball tournament.........

Youngest's end of the year 5th grade program.................
(Can you believe my last one is out of grade school?)

Tight Wad @ the H.S. If you get asked you pay for the date. The cheaper the better!!!!

Exhaustion & Excitement..............
Two different reactions to the last day of school

The year went by tooooo fast. I feel like it just started.
I now have a 6th grader, a Freshman & a Junior..........it really hasn't hit me yet. Ask me after I enjoy the rest of my summer and a new year has started
(probably when I pay ALL the fees)!

Raptor Romp

Each Fall the grade school puts on the Raptor Romp (annual fundraiser). Each grade level learns a dance and performs it for their parents. This was Youngest's last year and also the last for our family. It has been 10 yrs of many dances (and pizza). They sell pizza, drinks, candy and raffle tickets for drawings (Oldest actually won a $30 gift certificate to the movies...YES he's in heaven).

~The 5th grade danced to "Thriller" this year.......

~The finale is "The Chicken Dance"........
Youngest with a good friend and her brother (he wasn't really into it, can you tell?)

~With her brother. He couldn't resist this last chance to dance like a chicken.

~Two peas in a pod (well not really, but they are great together).

~Here's to another great Raptor Romp and many more without the Wilkinson's.

Science Fair

Which Diaper Absorbs the Most Water?

The Answer: Pampers

Place: 3rd

Youngest entered the Science Fair for the first time this year and said she really enjoyed it. She took 3 brand name diapers: Luvs, Huggies and Pampers and put them to the test. They all absorbed the same amount of water so she came up with putting pressure on them (simulating a baby sitting in it) to see if they leaked that way. All but the Pampers leaked a little tiny bit. She did AWESOME for her first experiment and waiting until the last minute (thank heavens for easy projects). She wants to do it again so I guess we accomplished something. A side note: "Science is my favorite subject when I can do experiments" says Youngest.

CONGRATULATIONS!

A Day at The Farm

So today was Farm Field Day. This time of year the local farm & the FFA kids invite all the county 4th graders to the farm. Where they learn about the many things that come from a farm. Like; did you know it takes 2-5 yrs to make a pizza? That bees only live for 6 weeks? That dirt is a word your Mom made up? Well now ya do and so do hundreds of 4th graders. They really have a great program out there. They have involved many different people to pull it off and it's gotten bigger each year. I believe the kids had a great time. You decide.

Pizza at a farm?
It Works when ya break it down into all the diff. ingredients.

It's not dirt! Call it silt or soil not dirt (remember we Mom's made that one up).

A sheep. Do y'all know what comes from a sheep? (Think about it)

These two miniature horses belonged to Youngests best friends Grandparents. One was sold to this farm. Her BF helped raise them & The Youngest spent some time with them also.
What a great day at the farm. Even Mom learned some things. One of the best things I saw was a sign hanging in one of the barns. I wish I had gotten a picture, but this is what it said:
"Our Family Works Like Helen B. Happy"
Let me know if you get it. The other Mom's with me didn't. I think we all can agree with this sign. :-)!

Back To School

WOW! I can't believe it's time for another year of school. I am not ready for this any more than they are. It is a sad occasion at our house.
We made it thru the first day and then took off to go to a funeral out of town for 2 days. Back to school on Friday then off for the weekend. So needless to say, it has yet to feel like school has started.
But it has and here is the proof (new clothes, backpacks, & supplies isn't that proof enough!?).

The Middle left first by carpool at 7:25.

The Oldest left at 7:45 (school starts at 8:25.
You decide why he went early, now remember he is a 14 yr. old boy.)

The Youngest was the last one to leave with Mom of course.
(The only one who will let me any more).

The two oldest buy their own clothes and other things now. I was so proud of all of the kids for shopping smart. We have been shopping the sales since July and also hitting the D.I. (Deseret Industries) when possible. It has been fun to see what outfits they can come up with on a budget.
WAY TO GO GUYS!

Middle was so excited to find this CUTE backpack (at Target). More than any of her other finds.

Oldest walked with his "adopted" brother & his cousin.
So it is unofficially "Goodbye" to Summer. We will still try to enjoy the sun a little while longer, but I am not sad to see the heat go (hopefully sooon!).
It has been hard for me to watch them grow up so fast, but I am excited to see all the things that they will do this year.
